Dr. Molayem is a holistic dentist, and uses only the safest dental techniques and substances. We are often asked by patients concerned about mercury toxicity to remove metal fillings and replace them with composite fillings. In this process, we are careful to ensure that the metal fillings are removed with great care to limit any exposure.

What are Composite Fillings?

Composite fillings are made of a tooth-colored resin, and are far superior in appearance once placed. We are focused upon protecting the health of our patients, and in placing fillings that are bio-compatible, durable, and look natural. Having fillings that perfectly blend with your natural tooth color creates a more attractive look, as they are virtually undetectable. Rather than the dark color of metal fillings, your teeth and entire smile will appear far more brilliant and appealing. Composite fillings are the perfect restoration for the following dental problems:

  • Decayed teeth
  • Fractured tooth
  • Cracked tooth
  • No-Drill Fillings
  • Chipped tooth
  • Worn teeth
  • Closing gaps

How does the "no-drill fillings" process work?

No-drill fillings are for cavities that are identified in their earliest stages and have not yet produced a hole in the tooth, and are effective on both tooth surfaces and between teeth. To produce the result, the system seals the pore system in the tooth that is showing the first signs of decay, sealing it over to halt the progression of decay.

In traditional dentistry, even when the first signs appeared, there was no treatment available until it progressed to a stage in which a filling could be placed. With the Icon no-drill system, these beginning stages can be halted, allowing the patient to maintain healthier, stronger teeth, and avoid fillings. The other benefit – it requires no anesthesia and is completely painless! Perfect for both children and adults, we believe that this advanced treatment is a powerful tool that helps our patients avoid more expensive, invasive dental work in the future.

Practice Policy Update Regarding COVID-19

Due to the increased health concerns regarding COVID-19, we are now scheduling Virtual Consultations.

The virtual consultation can help answer questions, provide guidance and help ease your mind. This is an area recently approved by the American Dental Association. During this process you become a patient of our dental practice by filling out new patient forms. This process is to familiarize the doctor with your Medical and Dental history which will be reviewed before your virtual appointment. The insurance portion will be used for billing purposes.

Depending on your needs you can schedule for one of the two types of consultation

1. Limited Visual Consultation: Limited to one tooth or one area of concern. (10minutes)

2. General Visual Consultation: Answers to your questions to more than one area of concern. (20 minutes)

What we need from you prior to your Consultation time:

1. X-rays that you have from previous dentists up to five years old.

2. Pictures of the area taken by your smart phone from different angles. Take as many from different views as possible. Including pictures of your smile and bite. We have found using your flash on your phone and focusing will help.
